Parade Of Homes – Sept 2nd
On September 2nd we decided to spend some time at the Parade of Homes in Delafield and Menomonee Falls. I would highly recommend going to your local Parade of Homes for inspiration if you are building and to check out the builders that are out there. You will get a good sense of their workmanship and look for all those little details that, to us, can make the difference of a builder who pays attention to detail and builds a beautiful home OR just makes it look beautiful without the details taken care of.
We looked for things like proper mitered edges, painter that did nice clean lines, soft closing drawers, use of products through out, good windows, proper construction, builder not willing to give up quality for lower cost, making sure no condensation and basic detail on all finishings. If the builder doesn’t use high quality contractors, then you risk quality for what you are paying for. We knew we would be paying a little more for quality which was important to us.
As we went through the homes, we took away ideas for interior design that we liked and disliked. Found current trends and trends in color palettes. We got to see Luxury Vinyl Planks through out a few homes which was a huge deal to us. We have pets and didn’t want to ruin hard wood floors with water, nails and urine. We got to see landscaping ideas and even garage floor ideas.
We walked away from the Parade Of Homes feeling even MORE confident about our choice of builders. James Craig Builders is the perfect builder for us and we are still so excited to be building with Craig and his amazing team.
